Despite returning only three starters on defense, Hoover DC Robert Evans’ Bucs had little trouble shutting down Oakland High’s Wing-T offense.  The defending 7A champion Bucs held the potent Patriot offense to 110 yards on the night.

The Buc defense recorded 13 tackles for loss including four sacks.  The Patriot offense was held to 78 yards on the ground and 32 through the air.

On offense, Senior Christopher Vacarella finished 13-21 for 190 yards and three TD’s in his second career start.

Buc fans will notice a lot of new faces on the offensive side of the ball as well when the Bucs kick off their first game in the state of Alabama next Friday night.  The biggest change comes in the form on new Offensive Coordinator Jason Kervin who is taking over for departed OC Tad Niblett.  Niblett accepted the head coaching position at Baldwin County’s Foley High School in the off season.

The Bucs continue out-of-state play as they host Florida’s Manatee High School friday night at the Met.
