Pell City Terminates Brooks Dampeer

After three seasons and two playoff appearances, Pell City Panthers head football coach Brooks Dampeer is out.

Dampeer compiled a 16-16 record including a 4-7 mark in 2015.

Pell City High principal Tony Dowdy confirmed that the school is currently accepting applications for the Panthers head football coach and athletic director positions.

Dowdy will be leading a search for the Panthers third head football coach in five seasons. He commented that a candidate’s lack of head coaching experience will not automatically disqualify a potential candidate.

“We are going to look and see who is interested in Pell City.  It is always good to look at those that have had head coaching experience, but that is not going to be an automatic qualifier or disqualifier.”

Dowdy added that the Panthers would like to have a head coach in place before the start of spring practice.
