Former Clay-Chalkville QB named starter at Cincinnati

Cincinnati, OH – University of Cincinnati Bearcats head coach Tommy Tuberville announced Monday that Clay-Chalkville’s Hayden Moore will be the Bearcats starting quarterback.

Moore and the Bearcats kick off the 2016 season September 1st, at home, against UT Martin.

Moore was 89 of 140 passing for 1,507 yards and 19 touchdowns through the air including three touchdowns on the ground during his senior season at Clay-Chalkville.   Leading the Cougars to the second round of the AHSAA 6A playoffs as a senior, he accounted for 430 yards of total offense and seven touchdowns against rival Pinson Valley.

Moore saw action in eight games as a redshirt freshman for the Bearcats in 2015, including two starts.  He finished the season with a total of 1,683 yards passing and eight touchdowns.  Moore set a school passing record, coming off the bench against the University of Memphis, passing for 557 yards and four touchdowns.

He lead Cincinnati to a 34-23 win over Miami last season in his first career start.
