Hoover takes down Huntsville, moves on to LAX quarterfinals

Hoover, AL – The fourth ranked Hoover Bucs moved a step closer to their fifth Alabama varsity lacrosse title Sunday afternoon with a dominating 17-2 win over the Huntsville High Panthers in the first round of the GBYLA playoffs.  

Huntsville ended 2017 ranked 13th with a record of 4-9.  The Panthers season was highlighted by a two game sweep of Tennessee Valley foe James Clemens.  Brian Russell’s Panthers outscored the Jets 30-2 in the teams two regular season meetings. 

Hoover faces off against crosstown rival Spain Park Tuesday night at Buccaneer Stadium.  The Bucs defeated the Jaguars 9-7 in a come from behind victory earlier in the season.
