Mtn Brook’s Zachary Carroll inks D1 LAX scholarship

Mountain Brook, AL – Mountain Brook High lacrosse has it’s first NCAA Division I lacrosse signee.  

Zachary Carroll, a three year captain for the perennial power Spartans, inked an offer to play for the 2015 NCAA Champion University of Denver Pioneers.  

Since entering Division I in 1999 Denver has become a force in collegiate lacrosse.  The Pioneers have earned four Big East Conference championships and appeared in five NCAA Final Fours in addition to their 2015 national title.  

In addition to being named an Alabama Lacrosse Association first team All-State selection in 2017, Carroll became the first Spartan to be named a two time US Lacrosse All-American.  

The senior midfielder lead head coach Brian Doud’s Spartans to a 11-3 record in 2017 including an appearance in the Alabama varsity lacrosse semifinals.  Carroll also competed with Birmingham’s BamaLax and Atlanta’s Higher Game Lacrosse squads and for the 2016 Fellowship of Christian Athletes National Championship U-17 team. 

Carroll capped his Spartans career with more than 130 goals, 100 assists, 65 takeaways and picked up more than 200 ground balls.
