Purdue Nabs Stanhope Elmore Standout

Millbrook, AL – Stanhope Elmore standout KJ Stokes will be taking his talents to the Big Ten.  

The 6’2, 205 pound three star defensive end pledged his services to the Perdue Boilermakers during an on-campus visit over the weekend. 

Stokes is the 21st player to commit to first year head coach Jeff Brohm’s 2018 signing class.  

In addition to Purdue, Stokes holds offers from UAB, Troy, Alabama State, Southern Miss, Army, Eastern Kentucky and The Citadel.  

Ranked the State of Alabama’s 56th best prospect and the 91st defensive end in the nation, Stokes recorded 92 tackles, five sacks, four interceptions and recovered four fumbles as a Junior in 2016. 

KJ is the son of Stanhope Elmore head men’s hoops coach Kelvin Stokes Sr.

Stakes and the Stanhope Elmore Mustangs kick off 2017 Friday September 1st at Prattville’s Stanley Jenson Stadium.
