Postgame Recap | Hoover takes down Sparkman 49-7, advances to quarterfinals

Hoover, AL – The sixth ranked Hoover Bucs took care of business in the first round of the AHSAA 7A playoffs defeating the Sparkman Senators 49-7 Friday night at the Hoover Met.  

The Bucs were lead by senior quarterback Jalen Parker who finished the contest with 149 yards and two touchdowns through the air compleating 12 of 17 passes.  Auburn commits Shedrick Jackson and George Pickens shined on the receiving end for the Bucs.  Jackson hauled in 4 catches for 70 yards while Pickens snagged a pair of catches for 28 yards and added a 85 yard punt return touchdown.  

Sparkman closed head coach Laron White’s first season at 7-4 completing their most successful season since posting a 10-2 record in 2006.  

Hoover will travel to Trussville Friday night to take on the undefeated Hewitt-Trussville Huskies.
