The 6’3, 205 pound dual-threat quarterback was sidelined for the bulk of the Bucs 2019 season before returning to lead Hoover to an overtime playoff win over James Clemens in the 7A quarterfinals. He closed out his senior campaign with 1,088 yards though the air, competing 84-of-170 throws while running for 247 yards on 41 attempts.
Ashford, a standout on the baseball diamond, plans to play both baseball and football at the next level. He currently holds 18 FBS offers including Ole Miss, Auburn, Florida, Florida State, Georgia, Texas A&M, Oregon, Penn State and Colorado.
