Auburn legend joins Pinson Valley staff

Birmingham, AL – Former Auburn and NFL defensive back Chris Davis, best known for his immortal 109 yard, last second, field goal return during the 2013 Iron Bowl has joined the Pinson Valley High School coaching staff.

The “Kick Six” star will join the 6A power as the Indian’s cornerbacks coach where he will tutor the state’s top ranked player, five star DB Ga’Quincy McKinstry.

Davis who finished his Auburn career with 25 pass breakups and 199 total tackles, was a part of the Tigers’s 2011 BCS National Championship squad and owns a pair of SEC Championship rings from 2010 and 2013.

The Birmingham native and Woodlawn High graduate was named an All-American as a return specialist by the Sporting News and CBS Sports. He earned second-team All-SEC honors at cornerback.

After four years on The Plains, Davis spent time with the NFL’s San Diego Chargers and San Francisco 49ers and the AAF’s Birmingham Iron. During his time in the NFL Davis recorded 19 tackles, 0.5 sacks, forced one fumble and recored 609 return yards.

Davis joins former Alabama standout and NFL alumnus Sam Shade who will be making his head coaching debut when the Indians take on the Hewitt-Trussville Huskies August 21st.
