Auburn varsity LAX roars past Thompson 23-2

Alabaster, AL – The Auburn Tigers varsity lacrosse squad exacted a little revenge for the Tigers 2020 state championship football loss to the Thompson Warriors Sunday afternoon in Alabaster.  The Tigers throttled Thompson 23-2 at a soggy Larry Simmons Stadium.

The win improved the Tigers to 2-0 on the season while dripping the Warriors to 0-2 with 10 games remaining in the Alabama high school lacrosse season. 

Auburn attackman Preston Cole lead all scorers with eight goals while Graham Young chipped in five assists. 

Twelve Tigers joined Cole in the scoring column including Cade Wagoner, Bradley Fulghum and Rob Fulghum who scored a pair of goals each.  Graham Young, Cole Weiss, Sam Snyder, Harris Hines, Keene Price, Yates Holley, Harrison Wade and Gabe Forthofer added one goal apiece.  

Auburn returns to Shelby County Sunday, February 14th to take to the upstart Helena Huskies (0-2) in a Valenties Day showdown.  The Tigers home opener will be Saturday, February 20th as Auburn welcomes the Oak Mountain Eagles (2-0) to Duck Samford Stadium.  

Thompson returns to action Thursday, February 18th at Larry Simmons Stadium agains the Hoover Bucs
