Vestavia Hills varsity LAX tops Mountain Brook 15-12

Vestavia Hills, AL – The 3rd ranked Vestavia Hills Rebels improved to 6-0 in Alabama high school lacrosse play Thursday night with a 15-12 victory over arch rival and defending state champion Mountain Brook at Thompson Reynolds Stadium.  The contest was second time the Rebels LAX squad have hosted a game on the Vestavia Hills High campus.  

The loss dropped the Spartans to 5-3 overall, 3-3 in GBYLA play.

The Rebels returned to their home field at the SHAC Monday night, knocking off the Thompson Warriors (1-6) 15-1 before taking their first loss of the season 17-14 to the No. 1 ranked Hoover Bucs (7-0) Thursday night.  

Mountain Brook took down the Homewood Patriots (4-4) 19-2 Tuesday night at Spartan Stadium and knocked off Oak Mountain (5-2) 19-11 Thursday night.  

The Spartans will play their last game in front of their home crowd April 3rd against the 2nd ranked Auburn Tigers (4-0) before closing out 2020 with three road contests.  

Vestavia travels to 14th ranked Helena (0-6) to take on the upstart Huskies Saturday, April 10th.
