Thompson’s Tre’Quon Fegans decommits from Miami

Alabaster, AL – Thomson Warriors four star defensive back Tre’Quon Fegans announced on Monday that he has decommited from the University of Miami. 

Fegans, is currently rated as the No. five overall recruit in the State of Alabama and the 11th best defensive back nationally by 247 Sports. He committed to Miami in late July choosing the Hurricanes over Alabama, Georgia, Oklahoma and South Carolina.

He currently holds 27 college offers including Alabama, Auburn, Florida, LSU, Nebraska and Penn State among others. 

The 6’2, 181 pound cornerback transferred to the powerhouse Thompson program from Oxford after standout sophomore and junior seasons with the Yellow Jackets.  During his last season in Oxford he he recorded 52 tackles, three interceptions, and a pair of scores on defense while adding three touchdowns on special teams and three scores on offense.  

As a sophomore at Oxford in 2019, he picked off five passes returning all five for touchdowns while helping lead the Yellow Jackets to a 14-1 record and the program’s first state title in 26 seasons.  

Fegans and the No. 1 ranked Thompson Warriors, who have outscored opponents 400-26 this season, continue their trek toward their third consecutive 7A state championship Friday night at Warrior Stadium against the 8th ranked Oak Mountain Eagles.
