Hueytown’s Scott Glenn Wins 2023 Alabama High School Broyles Award
Birmingham, AL – Hueytown Golden Gophers offensive line coach Scott Glenn has been named the Alabama High School Broyles Award winner for 2023.
Since 2018, the Broyles Award has expanded their 25-year tradition of honoring the nation’s top collegiate assistant football coaches by recognizing the best high school assistant football coach in each participating state. This prestigious award celebrates those who excel in guiding young athletes and contributing significantly to their teams.
Glenn, a native of Enterprise, Alabama, played a critical role in leading the Golden Gophers to an impressive 8-4 record and securing their seventh consecutive trip to the playoffs in 2023. His exceptional coaching skills and dedication have been instrumental in the team’s continued success.
Before joining Hueytown’s coaching staff under former head coach Scott Mansell in 2017, Glenn served as the head coach at Headland High School for two seasons. From 2015-2016, he led the Class 5A Rams to a combined 7-13 record.
A University of North Alabama alumnus, Glenn now joins the ranks of previous Alabama Broyles Award winners, including:
