James Clemens Downs Huntsville 32-7
MADISON, AL – The James Clemens Jets showcased a powerful rushing attack to secure a convincing 32-7 victory over the previously unbeaten Huntsville Panthers at a soggy Madison City Stadium Friday night .
The win improves Chad McGehee’s Jets to a record of 3-0 overall, 2-0 in Class 7A, Region 4 play. Huntsville slips to 3-1, 1-1.
Jets running back MJ Gideon led the charge for James Clemens, amassing 111 yards and scoring two touchdowns. Complimenting him, Cam Berry added 78 rushing yards and delivered a remarkable 30-yard touchdown run.
Gideon’s consistent performance has been a standout this season, having already surpassed the 100-yard rushing mark in all three games—achieving 132 yards against Gardendale and 117 against arch rival Bob Jones.
While Gideon has been instrumental for the Jets, other offensive talents have emerged as well. Quarterback Ga’Kobey Gill connected with Air Force Academy commit A.J. Little for a 15-yard scoring strike. Little finished the game with 45 receiving yards. Senior Myles Taylor also made his mark by returning an interception 59 yards for a touchdown.
Huntsville’s sole touchdown occurred with 4:05 left on the clock when Cinco Dawkins scampered into the endzone from just outside the Jet five yard line. Dawkins finished the night with 86 yards on the ground.
Looking ahead, James Clemens is set to face the Grissom Tigers (1-2, 0-2) at Alabama A&M’s Louis Crews Stadium next Friday. Meanwhile, Huntsville will take on the Sparkman Senators (1-3, 1-1) at Joe Davis Stadium.
