No. 4 Auburn Claws Past 2nd Ranked Enterprise 53-22
ENTERPRISE, AL – In a thrilling Class 7A top five showdown, Auburn Tigers’ standout Omar Mabson shined, rushing for 162 yards and scoring five touchdowns to lead fourth ranked Auburn to a commanding 53-22 win over the second ranked Enterprise Wildcats.
Mabson demonstrated his versatility, carrying the ball 24 times for four rushing touchdowns and also securing a score through the air.
Tigers quarterback Jackson Kilgore delivered an impressive performance, completing 20-of-29 passes for a total of 232 yards and a touchdown.
Charlie Ward contributed significantly for head coach Keith Etheredge’s Tigers, rushing for 106 yards and scoring a pair of touchdowns on just six carries. Peyton Plott also made his mark by catching six passes for 78 yards and returning three kicks for a total of 104 yards.
Defensively, Greg Williams and Kilgore were pivotal, each recording 10 tackles. Alex Gamston excelled with two interceptions and six tackles, while Caleb Pitts added seven tackles, two tackles for loss, and two pass deflections. BJ McGee also contributed with an interception.
With this victory, Auburn improved to 4-0 overall and 2-0 in Region 2. Meanwhile, Enterprise’s record now stands at 3-1 overall and 1-1 in region play.
Looking ahead, the Tigers will welcome the winless JAG Jaguars (0-3, 0-2) to Duck Samford Stadium next Friday night. Enterprise will look to bounce back with a trip to Phenix City to take on the top ranked Central Red Devils (4-0, 2-0).
