Third Ranked Thompson Dominates Oak Mountain 42-7
ALABASTER, AL – In an impressive display of skill and strategy, the third-ranked Thompson Warriors secured a decisive 42-7 win over the Oak Mountain Eagles Friday night in north Shelby County.
The powerhouse Warriors, now boasting a 3-1 overall record, 2-0 in region play, were led by standout quarterback Trent Seaborn, who delivered three touchdown passes in the first half alone, culminating in four scoring strikes for the game.
The game opened with a Mike Dijon 6-yard run for Thompson’s initial touchdown. Seaborn then connected with Pryce Lewis for another score, before delivering touchdown throws to Trey Knight and Dedrick Kimbrough—all within the first half. Angel Jones caught Seaborn’s final touchdown pass to round out Thompson’s scoring efforts.
Seaborn completed 11-of-16 passes for 204 yards with four scores and an interception.
Oak Mountain’s sole touchdown occurred when Will O’Dell’s 6-yard pass deflected to Zach Fitzgerald, narrowing Thompson’s lead to 14-7 with just over two minutes remaining in the first quarter. However, Thompson maintained control for the rest of the game.
Following the touchdown to Lewis and Oak Mountain’s score, Seaborn threw a 17-yard pass to Knight with 8:57 on the clock in the second quarter, extending the lead to 21-7.
RJ Evans added a 37-yard touchdown run with just over seven minutes left in the half, and Seaborn capped it with a 14-yard pass to Kimbrough. The final score came from a 21-yard pass to Jones, securing the Warriors’ 42-7 victory.
Up next, Thompson travels to Vestavia Hills, while Oak Mountain (2-2 overall, 0-2) will welcome Tuscaloosa County to Herdmont Park.
