Logan Anderson’s Five Scores Leads Fyffe Past Whitesburg Christian 49-7

HUNTSVILLE, AL – The Fyffe Red Devils, ranked No. 5 in Class 3A claimed a decisive 49-7 victory over Whitesburg Christian in a Region 8 matchup Friday night in Madison County.

Fyffe improves to improves to 5-2 on the season with a flawless 5-0 mark in Class 3A, Region 8 play.  Whitesburg Christian slips to 3-4 overal with a region record of 2-3. 

The two-time defending Class 2A state champion Red Devils dominated the contest, scoring 49 unanswered points before Whitesburg Christian managed to get on the scoreboard in the final stanza.

Logan Anderson led the charge for the Devils, amassing an impressive 266 yards and five touchdowns on just nine carries.

Quarterback Blake Dobbins connected with Ryder Smith for a 39-yard touchdown on Fyffe’s only pass attempt of the game. Simon Hicks contributed with 39 yards and a touchdown on two carries. Maddox Doss added 73 yards on 10 carries.

Kicker Jesse Martin was flawless with a 7-for-7 performance on extra points, and Ryder Smith added an interception for the Red Devil defense.

Whitesburg Christian’s lone score came on a 39-yard touchdown toss from Kaleb Robinson to Joseph Bolton midway through the fourth quarter.

The victory was the 599th win in the storied history of the Fyffe High School football program.  

Fyffe (5-2, 5-0 Class 3A, Region 8) prepares to host Holly Pond (3-4, 2-3) next Friday, while Whitesburg Christian (3-4, 2-3 Class 3A, Region 8) will look to bounce back with a road trip to Geraldine (6-1, 4-1).
