Enterprise Downs Baker 30-14 to Make Historic Semifinal Appearance
ENTERPRISE, AL – The Enterprise Wildcats have advanced to the AHSAA semifinals for the first time in over three decades after defeating the Baker Hornets 30-14 in Friday’s Class 7A quarterfinals at Wildcat Stadium.
Despite the loss, the Hornets concluded a remarkable season under new head coach Juan Johnson, earning nine wins and reaching the second round for only the second time in the program’s history.
Standout Enterprise signal caller Mason Burkhardt shinded, completing 10-of-13 throws for 163 yards and a touchdown while adding 120 yards on the ground. He even caught a 7-yard touchdown pass. Winters contributed significantly with 128 rushing yards, including an 80-yard touchdown run that sealed the game, and threw a touchdown pass to Burkhardt. Dylan Smith added 51 rushing yards over 12 carries, leading the Wildcats to amass an impressive 320 rushing yards and 490 total offensive yards.

Kicker Jose Rocha was impressive, successfully nailing three field goals and converted all three point-after attempts.
For the visitors, Speedy Wheeler showcased his talent with a 27-yard touchdown run, and Tate Graham connected with Tristan Robinson for a 22-yard touchdown pass.
The Wildcats will travel to the Birmingham metro next Friday night to face the powerhouse Thompson Warriors (9-3) in the Class 7A semifinals. Baker’s season comes to a close at 9-3.
