10 Time State Champion Bobby Carr Takes Over Prattville Lions Football Program

PRATTVILLE, AL – Veteran head football coach Bobby Carr has officially been named the Prattville Lions 39th leader on the gridiron. 

Carr takes the reins of the Prattville program after serving as the head coach at Carver-Montgomery in 2024.   

During his lone season at Carver, Carr led the Wolverines to a 6-3 record in their first season in Class 7A. Before his time at Carver, Carr served as the offensive coordinator for Elberta High School during the 2023 football season. 

Carr brings an impressive coaching resume, boasting a career record of 260-63 across 27 seasons, according to the Alabama High School Football Historical Society,  and highlighted by an astounding 10 state titles.

Carr began his head coaching career at Millbrook’s New Life Christian Academy where he led the Eagles to a 40-16 record including a 6-1 mark in postseason play over five seasons.  In 2021 he made the move to Edgewood Academy where he guided the Wildcats to a 162-25 record, 11 region crowns and seven Alabama Independent School Association (AISA) state championships.  He left Edgewood, following the 2015 season, riding a 71 game winning streak and six consecutive state titles.

His next stop was a successful five year stint at Autauga Academy.  From 2017 to 2021 he posted a 48-11 record, four region titles and three AISA championships over five seasons.  Carr stepped into Mississippi in 2022 leading the Presbyterian Christian to a 4-8 mark before returning to Alabama to join Nathan McDaniel’s staff for one season at Elberta High School.  

The Faulkner University alum was named Coach of the Year by the Alabama Sports Writers Association in 2010.  

Carr takes over for J.B. Wallace, who stepped down in November. Wallace capped his four year stint at the helm of the Prattville football program at 21-20.
