AHSAA State Basketball Tournament Schedule and Matchups Set

BIRMINGHAM, AL – The stage is set for the 2025 AHSAA State Basketball Finals, where 56 teams will compete for blue maps across seven classifications. The tournament pits winners from the Northwest Region against South champions and Northeast victors against Central winners in the semifinals.

This year’s field features nine defending champions—five on the girls’ side and four on the boys’ side—including reigning state champions Hoover (Class 7A girls and boys), Hazel Green (Class 6A girls), and Spring Garden (Class 1A girls).

Additionally, 10 top-ranked teams from the Alabama Sports Writers Association (ASWA) polls are included, with all seven No. 1 teams in the girls’ divisions competing. Among those are Hillcrest-Tuscaloosa (7A), Park Crossing (6A), Ramsay (5A), Trinity Presbyterian (4A), Lauderdale County (3A), Decatur Heritage (2A), and Spring Garden (1A). On the boys’ side, top-ranked Hoover (7A), Fairfield (4A), and Providence Christian (2A) are also in the mix.

The competition kicks off Monday at Birmingham’s Legacy Arena with semifinal matchups, leading up to championship games starting Thursday afternoon and continuing through Saturday.

Monday, February 24th

Class 1A – Girls Semifinals
