Coach Speak
Head coach Blake Smith credited his team’s perseverance and faith for their success.
“Going for a three-peat is never just about the opponent; it’s also about overcoming internal challenges,” Smith said. “This team relied on love and unity, which carried us through the season.” Smith also praised his standout seniors, stating, “We had three MVPs across three titles. That’s something special. Glory to God for that.”
Good Hope head coach Justin Aby acknowledged his team’s resilience after losing key starters from last year’s title-winning squad.
“These kids earned their way back to the final. Last year, we won by 28, and this year we lost by 40, but that’s basketball. I couldn’t be prouder of their hard work and character,” Aby said.
Historical Notes
- Trinity’s 40-point triumph marks the fourth-greatest margin of victory in AHSAA girls’ basketball state championship history.
