Former Auburn University and Central-Phenix City Receiver Dylan Gentry Transfers to Jacksonville State
BIRMINGHAM, AL – Former Auburn University wide receiver and former Central-Phenix City standout Dylan Gentry has announced his transfer to Jacksonville State.
Gentry originally entered Auburn’s program as a 3-star prospect and preferred walk-on from Central-Phenix City. During his high school career, he received offers from Florida A&M and Albany State before committing to Auburn, where he joined former Red Devils’ teammate Cam Coleman. The 5-foot-9, 151-pound receiver appeared in one game for Auburn during the 2023 season, suiting up against Alabama A&M in the Tigers’ season opener.

Gentry’s high school success at Central-Phenix City solidified his status as a standout athlete. During his senior campaign, he recorded 29 receptions for 540 yards and seven touchdowns, playing a pivotal role in the Red Devils’ 2023 Class 7A state title. Central defeated Thompson 21-19 to clinch the Blue Map in Tuscaloosa, with Gentry contributing two receptions for 36 yards in the championship game.
