Defending Champ Auburn Advances to Class 7A Girls Soccer Championship with 3-0 Win Over McGill-Toolen Catholic 

HUNTSVILLE, AL – Junior forward Camilla Bosman displayed a standout performance Thursday, scoring two critical second-half goals to lead the defending state champion Auburn Tigers (20-3-1) to a 3-0 victory over McGill-Toolen Catholic (15-5-3) in the Class 7A semifinals. The match took place at John Hunt Park in the Loretta P. Spencer Sports Complex.

The win propels Auburn, guided by head coach Bill Ferguson, into the AHSAA State Soccer Class 7A championship match scheduled for Saturday in the Rocket City.

Bosman broke the deadlock just four minutes into the second half, firing a powerful shot from outside the box for the opening goal. She struck again at the 70:23 mark with her second score, set up by a precise assist from Claire Nappier. Auburn sealed its dominant performance when Lulu Hammer netted the final goal at the 72:36 mark with a well-placed 15-yard kick that ricocheted off the bottom crossbar into the net. 

McGill-Toolen, led by head coach Cheryl Flores, received a valiant effort from goalkeeper Elise Vial, who recorded eight saves, including five in the second half. Auburn keeper Melissa Smith was rarely tested, finishing the game with one save.

With this win, Auburn is one step closer to defending its state title in the Class 7A championship.
