Parker Tramples Ramsay 41-13 in Magic City Showdown
BIRMINGHAM, AL – The defending Class 6A champion Parker Thundering Herd kicked off their 2025 season with a decisive 41-13 victory against rival Ramsay High School on Thursday night at Legion Field. Senior quarterback Dylan Reese delivered an exceptional performance, throwing for 321 yards and five touchdowns.
The win marks Parker’s 11th consecutive victory and their 15th straight win against an in-state opponent. The Thundering Herd also extended their winning streak over the Rams to five games.
The matchup was part of the third annual BCS Stop the Violence Classic, an event designed to promote unity and safety within the Birmingham community.
Parker’s offense started with a fumble and an interception on its first two possessions. However, Reese quickly found his rhythm, connecting with Anthony Craig for a 19-yard touchdown in the first quarter. In the second quarter, he found Kentrell Davis for two more touchdowns of 17 and 24 yards.
Ramsay answered with big plays from Jayden Martin, who broke free for a 58-yard touchdown run in the second quarter. Early in the third, Martin’s 57-yard rush set up a 16-yard touchdown run for quarterback Davey Lawrence III, closing the gap to 21-13.
Parker responded immediately. Less than a minute later, Reese launched a 75-yard touchdown pass to Kejuan Gregg-Lamb. Reese later threw a 14-yard touchdown to Jacoby Quates in the fourth quarter, and Kameron Murphy sealed the win with a 10-yard touchdown run.
Parker’s offense generated 480 total yards compared to Ramsay’s 291. Reese completed 17 of 25 passes. Quates led all receivers with four catches for 74 yards. For Ramsay, Martin was a standout, rushing 14 times for 102 yards.
On defense, Parker’s Demetrius Terrell recorded a key sack on Lawrence for a 29-yard loss in the first half. For the Rams, Jordan Smith recovered a fumble and Alandias Thomas had an interception.
Looking ahead, Parker will welcome the Mountain Brook Spartans to Major Brown Memorial Stadium next Friday night. Ramsay travels east to take on Class 6A power Clay-Chalkville.
