Fairview Dominates Ardmore 42-14 in Key Region Matchup
FAIRVIEW, AL – The Fairview Aggies, ranked No. 4 in Class 5A, showcased another dominant performance in their region matchup against the Ardmore Tigers Friday night at Dafford Smith Stadium, securing a decisive 42-14 victory
The win improves head coach George Redding Jr.’s Aggies to 4-0 on the season, 2-0 in Class 5A, Region 7 play. Ardmore picked up their second consecutive loss to slip to 2-2 (0-2).
After a scoreless first quarter, Fairview’s offense ignited in the second. Quarterback Kolt Redding opened the scoring with a 2-yard touchdown run, putting the Aggies ahead 7-0. On their subsequent possession, Jake Harper broke free for a significant gain, setting up his own 2-yard touchdown run to extend the lead to 14-0 midway through the quarter.
Harper found the end zone again just before halftime, pushing Fairview’s advantage to 21-0 at the break.
The Aggies maintained their momentum by recovering an onside kick to start the second half. Rex Chandler capitalized on the opportunity, scoring on a 27-yard run to make it 28-0. Harper continued his stellar night with a 47-yard touchdown sprint, his third of the game, increasing the lead to 35-0.
In the fourth quarter, Easton Filch added a 12-yard touchdown run, bringing the score to 42-0 putting the game on ice.
With the win, the Aggies improve their record to 4-0. They will host another region game next week against Lawrence County.
