No. 1 Ranked Central Phenix-City Routs Dothan 56-28 in Homecoming Victory
PHENIX CITY, AL – The top-ranked Central Phenix-City Red Devils maintained their undefeated record with a dominant 56-28 homecoming win over the Dothan Wolves on Friday night at Garrett-Harrison Stadium.
The victory improves Central to 4-0 on the season and 2-0 in Class 7A, Region 2 play. Dothan falls to 3-1 overall and 1-1 in the region, marking their first loss of the season.
Central’s offense fired on all cylinders, led by quarterback Bobby Coleman Jr., who delivered four touchdown passes. Three of those scoring throws were caught by wide receiver Branden Brown, punctuating head coach Patrick Nix’s aerial attack.
The Red Devils’ ground game proved equally effective, contributing four rushing touchdowns. The scoring started early on Central’s opening drive when Donovan Crow broke free for a 40-yard touchdown run. Jayshaun Woodhouse later added to the total with an explosive 75-yard sprint to the end zone.
Looking ahead, Dothan will look to rebound as they travel to Montgomery’s Cramton Bowl for a crucial region matchup with Carver-Montgomery (3-1, 2-0). Meanwhile, Central Phenix-City will hit the road to the wiregrass to face the Enterprise Wildcats (2-2, 0-2) in another key region matchup.
