Good Hope Dominates Addison 41-6

ADDISON, AL – In a highly anticipated matchup between two undefeated teams, the Good Hope Raiders traveled across Smith Lake to Addison and delivered a commanding performance. The Raiders established an early lead and never looked back, securing a dominant 41-6 win over the Addison Bulldogs.  The interclass win improves the Raiders to a perfect 5-0 on the season.  Addison suffers their first loss to slip to 5-1.

First Half: Raiders Seize Control

The game began with Addison attempting a bold double pass, resulting in a significant gain by Scout Flynn. However, the Good Hope defense quickly regrouped, forcing a turnover on downs and halting the Bulldogs’ initial momentum. Following an exchange of punts, the Raiders’ offense found its rhythm late in the first quarter.

Running back Mason Drake broke through the Addison defense for a 40-yard touchdown run, giving Good Hope its first points. Although the extra point was unsuccessful, the Raiders held a 6-0 lead with just over two minutes left in the quarter.

The second quarter saw Good Hope’s special teams make a crucial play. A blocked punt gave the Raiders excellent field position, setting up their next score. Quarterback Parker Johnson connected with Carter Rutherford on a 27-yard screen pass for a touchdown. Johnson then successfully ran in the two-point conversion, extending the lead to 14-0.

Before the half concluded, Drake found the end zone again for his second touchdown of the night. A successful extra point by Titus Montgomery pushed the score to 21-0. The Raiders’ defense forced another Addison punt, allowing Good Hope to take their commanding lead into the locker room at halftime.

Second Half: Good Hope Pulls Away

The Raiders received the ball to start the third quarter and continued their offensive surge. Drake wasted no time, scoring his third touchdown of the evening to make it 28-0. The Good Hope defense stepped up again when Caleb Boles intercepted an Addison pass, giving possession back to the Raiders.

From their own 12-yard line, Good Hope executed a long, methodical drive that consumed clock and yardage. The drive culminated in Drake’s fourth touchdown, a 4-yard run that increased the lead to 35-0 late in the third quarter.

In the fourth quarter, with the game well in hand, the Raiders began to incorporate younger players. Cullen Phillips added to the score with a touchdown run, stretching the lead to 41-0.

Addison managed to avoid a shutout in the final three minutes. Quarterback Elijah Roberts connected with Connor Lane for a touchdown, putting the Bulldogs on the board. However, it was not enough to shift the momentum, and Good Hope returned home with a decisive 41-6 victory.
