Admirals Stay Undefeated in Region Play with Decisive Victory

DAPHNE, AL — The eighth-ranked Bayside Academy Admirals secured a commanding 56-6 victory over Hillcrest-Evergreen on Friday night at Freedom Field. The win keeps Bayside Academy’s region record perfect, setting the stage for a critical matchup next week. Noah Cain was a standout performer, scoring three touchdowns, while Brennen Yamane added two scores on the ground in a game that showcased the Admirals’ offensive and defensive power.

With the win, Head coach Barrett Trotter’s Admirals improves to 3-0 in Class 3A, Region 1 play. They now share the top spot with Cottage Hill Christian, with only two region games left on the schedule, including a head-to-head battle between the two teams next week.  Hillcrest slips to 2-5 on the season, 1-3 in the region.

First Half Firepower Propels Bayside

The Admirals established their dominance early, building an insurmountable 41-0 lead by halftime. Quarterback Davis Barnett was instrumental in the first-half surge, completing 11 of his 13 passes for an impressive 211 yards.

The scoring onslaught began with two powerful touchdown runs from Brennen Yamane. Following Yamane’s scores, Barnett connected with Noah Cain for two touchdown passes of 26 and 40 yards, extending the lead and showcasing the team’s balanced attack.

Capping off an explosive first half, Cain delivered a pivotal defensive play. He intercepted a pass and returned it 75 yards for a touchdown on the final play before the break, highlighting a comprehensive team performance in the opening two quarters.

Special Teams and Defense Add to the Admiral Lead

The second half began with a running clock, but Bayside Academy continued to add to its lead. Caid Lyons opened the third quarter with a spectacular 85-yard kickoff return for a touchdown, pushing the score to 48-0.

The Admirals’ defense continued to pressure Hillcrest-Evergreen. On the Jaguars’ first possession of the second half, a botched snap on a punt attempt resulted in a recovery in their own end zone for a safety, increasing the Bayside lead to 50-0.

Later in the third quarter, Davis Barnett threw his fourth touchdown pass of the night, a 15-yard strike to Walker Collins. This score brought the tally to 56-0 as the quarter came to a close.

Looking Ahead to a Region Showdown
