Fairview Secures Second Consecutive Class 5A, Region 7 Title

PRICEVILLE, AL – Jake Harper made history Friday night, breaking the Fairview High School career rushing record while leading the No. 4 ranked Aggies to a decisive 28-9 road victory over the No. 10 Priceville Bulldogs. The win officially crowns Fairview as the Class 5A, Region 7 champions.

The region-defining contest started with a strong defensive stand. Pinned deep in their own territory, Fairview broke free with a significant run from Harper. The methodical drive continued into the second quarter, where Harper punched it in from 26 yards out, giving the Aggies a 7-0 lead.

Later in the half, Fairview extended its advantage when quarterback Kolt Redding connected with Jace Stevens for a 10-yard touchdown pass, making it 14-0. Priceville managed to get on the board just before halftime with a 36-yard field goal, cutting the deficit to 14-3.

The Bulldogs opened the second half with momentum, scoring on a 6-yard touchdown pass from Sheldon Graham to Hudson Eubanks to make it a 14-9 game. However, Fairview responded immediately. On the ensuing possession, Redding found Harper on a screen pass, and Harper raced 64 yards down the sideline for a touchdown, pushing the lead to 21-9.

Fairview sealed the victory early in the fourth quarter. After a big pass play, Harper scored his second rushing touchdown of the night from 26 yards out. A Conner Scott interception in the end zone on Priceville’s next drive solidified the 28-9 final score.

Redding finished the night with 151 passing yards for Fairview, while Stevens was a primary target with five catches for 115 yards and two total touchdowns.

With the win, Fairview improves to 7-0 overall and 5-0 in region play. The Aggies will travel to face the Sardis Lions next Friday night in a non-region matchup. Priceville, now 5-2, will host Lawrence County.
