GADSDEN, AL – The No. 2 ranked Coosa Christian Conquerors secured the Class 2A Region 6 title with a dominant 55-0 performance against the West End Patriots Thursday night at Phillip Ellen Stadium. The victory marks Coosa Christian’s seventh consecutive win, improving their overall record to 7-2 and their region mark to a perfect 6-0. With the loss, the Patriots slip to 2-7 on the season, 0-5 in region play.
This marks the Conquerors first region crown since joining the AHSAA in 2005 and sets up a showdown with the Tuscaloosa Academy Knights next week in a battle of top five Class 2A powers.
Head coach Rush Propst’s squad established control early, building a commanding 35-0 lead in the first quarter.
Coosa Christian’s offense was effective through the air and on the ground. Quarterback Mac Long was efficient, completing 11 of his 15 passes for 210 yards and three touchdowns. His scoring throws were distributed among Kylen Johnson, Grayson Malone, and LJ Mostella. Johnson led all receivers with 88 yards, Malone added 68 yards, and Mostella contributed 34 yards.
The Conqueror rushing attack was led by Joseph East, who ran for 100 yards and two touchdowns on just six carries. Coosa also saw rushing touchdowns from Cade Mickler, Radley Mays, and Carson Reed.
Looking ahead, the Coosa Christian will travel west to No. 3 Tuscaloosa Academy (6-1, 4-1) next Friday night to close out the regular season. West End will conclude its 2025 season by welcoming the Southeastern Mustangs (5-2, 3-1) to Walnut Grove.
