Rebels Secure Decisive Win on the Road
NORTHPORT, AL – The fourth-ranked Vestavia Hills Rebels delivered a powerful performance Friday night in west Alabama, defeating Class 7A, Region 3 foe Tuscaloosa County 56-10. Head coach Rob Evans’ Rebels established control early, building a 28-0 lead in the first quarter and extending it to 35-3 at the break.
Rebels Offensive Explosion
Vestavia Hills showcased a formidable ground attack, accumulating 350 rushing yards. The team’s passing game was equally impressive, with quarterback Price LeMaster completing all 10 of his pass attempts for 108 yards, including a 13-yard touchdown toss to Will Ainsworth.
Key offensive performers for the Rebels included:
- Major Weaver: 92 rushing yards and a touchdown on 13 carries.
- Noah Boylan: 88 rushing yards and two touchdowns on 9 carries.
- Carter Stagner: 56 rushing yards and two touchdowns on 4 carries, highlighted by a 41-yard scoring run.
- Luke Stubbs: Led receivers with 36 yards on 4 catches and scored the game’s first touchdown on a 65-yard run.
T-County Highlights
Tuscaloosa County put points on the board with a 24-yard field goal from Jonathan Stevens and a 3-yard touchdown run by Chardarius Hutchins. The Wildcats focused on their run game, gaining 179 yards on 49 attempts, with Dylan Taylor leading the effort with 72 yards on 21 carries. The Cats’ passing game struggled, going 0-for-3 on the night.
Vestavia Hills improves to 6-2 overall (4-2 in the region), while Tuscaloosa County moves to 0-8 (0-6 in region play).

Looking ahead, the Rebels will return home for another critical Region 3 showdown with arch rival Hoover (6-3, 4-2) Friday night at Thompson Reynolds Stadium. Tuscaloosa County will close out region play with a road trip to Trussville to take on the seventh ranked Hewitt Huskies (7-2, 4-2).
