Moss Dominates as No. 1 St. Michael Catholic Advances, Defeats Pike County 49-21
FAIRHOPE, AL – South Alabama commit Noah Moss delivered a historic performance, leading the top-ranked St. Michael Cardinals to a decisive 49-21 victory over Pike County in the opening round of the playoffs. Moss was unstoppable, rushing for an incredible 368 yards and scoring six touchdowns on just 16 carries.
The win marks a significant milestone for the Cardinals, who improve to a perfect 11-0 for the first time in school history.
Under the direction of head coach Philip Rivers, the offense was effective through the air as well. Junior quarterback Gunner Rivers completed 13 of his 24 pass attempts for 152 yards. He connected with fellow South Alabama commit Brody Jones for a touchdown pass. Jones finished the game with four catches for 53 yards.
With this first-round victory secured, St. Michael will now prepare to travel to Pleasant Grove for a second-round matchup next week. Pike County’ 2025 campaign comes to a close at 5-4.
