Foley Taps Bryan Moore as 24th Head Football Coach
FOLEY, AL. — Foley High School has announced Bryan Moore as its new head football coach, following approval from the Baldwin County Board of Education. Moore, a seasoned coach with an impressive track record, brings a wealth of experience and a history of success to the Lions’ program.
“My wife Lindsey and I are incredibly excited for the opportunity to come to Foley and invest in such a special community,” Moore said. “Our goal has always been to win championships and, more importantly, develop championship people. We will work relentlessly every day to build something the entire Foley community can be proud of. Go Lions!”
Moore’s head coaching career spans 11 seasons, during which he has compiled a 105-28 record, boasting a 78.9% winning percentage. His teams have earned four region titles and advanced to the postseason in each of his 11 seasons as a head coach.
Most recently, Moore served as the head coach at Class 7A Opelika, where he led the Bulldogs to their first-ever Class 7A State Championship game in 2025.
“Coach Moore’s record as a head football coach places him among Alabama’s most successful active head coaches,” said Foley High School Athletic Director Metta Christensen. “He’s won everywhere he’s been. He demands discipline and commitment, and he knows how to make it fun and exciting for the players. We’re excited to have him join our staff.”

Moore’s coaching journey began at Opelika High School in 2007, where he served as a ninth-grade football assistant coach and head basketball coach. He later took on head coaching roles at several schools across Alabama, leaving a legacy of success at each stop:
- Eufaula High School (2015-2017): Moore’s first head coaching position resulted in a 26-9 record over three seasons, with three playoff appearances.
- Jasper High School (2018-2019): Moore led the Vikings to a 22-3 record, going undefeated in region play and claiming two region titles.
- Hartselle High School (2020-2023): At Hartselle, Moore compiled a 38-9 record, leading the program to multiple deep playoff runs and two region championships.
- Opelika High School (2024-2025): Returning to Opelika, Moore revitalized the Bulldogs, achieving a 19-7 record over two seasons and culminating in a trip to the Class 7A State Championship game.
Foley High School Principal Jessica Webb highlighted the extensive search process that led to Moore’s hiring. “Coach Moore’s reputation and body of work stood out and best aligned with the qualities, expectations, and rich traditions of our school and our city,” Webb said. “Foley is a wonderful place to live, and we are thrilled to welcome Coach Moore to our community.”
Moore replaces Deric Scott, who led the Lions to a 28-32 record over the past six seasons. Foley closed out 2025 at 4-6 overall, 2-5 in Class 7A, Region 1 play.
