Seth Parker Returns to Lead Bob Jones Football Program

MADISON, AL — Seth Parker, a Bob Jones High School alumnus and former Priceville High School head football coach, has been named the Patriots 12th head football coach. The announcement was made official during a Madison City School Board meeting on Thursday, marking a homecoming for Parker, who has deep ties to the Tennessee Valley program.

Parker, who spent the last two seasons at Priceville, transformed the Bulldogs’ football program. Under his leadership, Priceville improved from a 2-8 record in 2024 to an impressive 8-4 season in 2025, culminating in a second-round playoff appearance. His efforts earned him accolades, including the Alabama Sports Writers Association (ASWA) Class 5A Coach of the Year and The Decatur Daily Class 5A-7A Coach of the Year honors.

“This is a dream come true,” Parker said. “Since I was five years old, coaching at Bob Jones has been a goal of mine. I’m ready to give everything I’ve got to this program and the Madison community.”

Parker’s appointment follows the retirement of Kelvis White, who led the Patriots to a combined 29-35 record over the past six seasons. White praised Parker’s innovative approach, noting his impact as an offensive coordinator during his previous tenure at Bob Jones. “He’s a hometown guy, and the success of Bob Jones is his number one priority,” White said.

Madison City Schools Superintendent Dr. Ed Nichols highlighted Parker’s passion for student-athletes and his commitment to fostering growth both on and off the field. “It wasn’t just about X’s and O’s,” Nichols said. “It was about creating meaningful experiences for the kids.”

Parker’s immediate goals include fostering community buy-in and building a program that emphasizes strength, speed, and physicality. “We’re going to focus on the fundamentals—blocking, tackling, and hard work in the weight room,” Parker explained. “With complete buy-in from the community, we can turn Bob Jones into a premier football program in Alabama.”

Parker’s connection to Bob Jones runs deep. As a student-athlete, he lettered in football, baseball, and track before attending the University of Alabama, where he served as a student assistant under Nick Saban. His coaching career includes stints as an offensive coordinator and receivers coach at Bob Jones, as well as time on staff at Athens High School.

The Patriots, who finished the 2025 season with a 5-5 record, have a rich history of success but have not advanced past the second round of the playoffs since 2013. Parker aims to reignite the program’s competitive spirit and lead the team to new heights.

“We’ve got to unite the past, present, and future of Bob Jones football,” Parker said. “This program has the potential to be elite, not just in North Alabama but across the state.”
