Brennen Archer Runs for 3 TDs as No. 8 Leeds Beats Moody 36-13 in Battle of the Bridge
LEEDS, AL — Class 4A No. 8 Leeds kept its Region 6 record perfect Friday night. Quarterback Brennen Archer ran for 197 yards and three touchdowns as the Green Wave beat Moody 36-13 on Sept. 25 in the annual Battle of the Bridge.
Leeds (4-1, 4-0) ran for 317 yards and scored all five of its touchdowns on the ground. The win gives the Green Wave bragging rights in one of the area’s oldest rivalries and keeps them in control of the region race heading into October.
Moody (3-4, 2-2) dropped to .500 in region play but stays in the hunt for a playoff spot with three weeks left in the regular season.
Ground Game Sets the Tone
Leeds made its plan clear from the opening possessions. The Green Wave leaned on its offensive line and a two-back rushing attack built around Archer and Jacarrious Davis. That approach let them control the clock and wear down the Moody front.
Archer did most of the damage. He kept the ball on designed runs and option reads, turning his 23 carries into big chunks of yardage. His three rushing scores were the backbone of the Leeds offense.
Davis did the hard work between the tackles. He finished drives and kept the chains moving, punching in a touchdown of his own as Leeds built its lead.

Moody Answers but Can’t Keep Pace
Moody put 13 points on the board and stayed competitive in stretches against one of the top-ranked teams in Class 4A. The Blue Devils found ways to move the ball and answer on the scoreboard.
Each time Moody gained momentum, though, Leeds responded with another long, physical drive. The Blue Devils had trouble getting the Green Wave offense off the field. That limited their chances to close the gap in the second half.
Standout Performances
Brennen Archer, QB, Leeds: Archer was the clear difference-maker. He ran 23 times for 197 yards and three touchdowns, averaging more than 8.5 yards per carry. He was also perfect through the air, completing all six of his passes for 50 yards. He didn’t need to throw often, but he made every attempt count.
Jacarrious Davis, RB, Leeds: Davis gave Leeds a dependable second option in the backfield. He carried 15 times for 65 yards and a touchdown, taking pressure off Archer and keeping the Moody defense honest.
Taylon Gaiter, WR, Leeds: Gaiter was the top target in the passing game. He caught seven passes for 51 yards and turned short throws into steady gains that kept drives alive.
By the Numbers
