Upgrades planned for Gardendale’s Driver Stadium

Gardendale, AL – The playing surface at Gardendale High School’s Driver Stadium will have a new look when the Rockets return to the field this fall.  The north Jefferson County program announced that a new synthetic turf playing surface will be added to the storied facility prior to the Rockets 2021 campaign.

The new playing surface is just the latest in a series of upgrades that have been made to the stadium in recent years, including new lighting that was added prior to the 2020 season.

Gardendale joins 6A Region 6 foes Pinson Valley, Clay-Chalkville, Mortimer Jordan and Jasper in making the switch to synthetic turf.

The Rockets are set to take on the Hoover Bucs Saturday, May 22nd at Buccaneer Stadium to cap spring workouts.
