Hoover knocks off Spain Park 47-34

The Hoover Bucs (8-0, 5-0) racked up 604 yards of total offense in route to to a 47-34 victory over cross town rival Spain Park (2-5, 0-5) Thursday night at the Hoover Met. 

The win marked the second ranked Bucs fifth consecutive victory over the Jags.

Hoover signal caller Josh Lundy finished the night with 318 yards, completing 23-of-37 passes and a pair of touchdowns through the air.  Jaylen Taylor lead the Bucs on the ground with 129 yards and a pair of scores on 12 carries.  Malik Thomas hauled in six catches for 110 yards and a touchdown. 

Bennett Merideth lead the Jaguars offense, who racked up 471 yards on the night, with four scores throughout the air and one on the ground while connecting on 33-of-40 passes.  

Hoover returns to action next Friday night, welcoming the Tuscaloosa County Wildcats (2-5, 1-4) to The Met.  The Bucs will close out the regular season October 23rd, on the road at reigning state champion Thompson (8-0, 5-0) in what will likely he a battle for the 7A Region 3 title.  Spain Park will look to snap their five game loosing skid next week as they travel to Vestavia Hills to face the 1-6 Rebels.
