Marvin Morton elevated to Chilton County head football coach

Clanton, AL – The Chilton County Tigers have officially named their next head football coach.  The Tigers have promoted defensive coordinator Marvin Morton to lead the 6A program in 2022.

Morton replaces former Chilton County head coach Tae Morrison who lead the Tigers to a combined 15-37 record including a pair of playoff appearances and a 9-21 mark in region play over the past five seasons.

A graduate of Maplesville High School, Morton has spent the last two seasons as the Tigers defensive coordinator.  His first head coaching stop was a one year stint at Class 1A Billingsley where he guided the Bears to a 5-6 record and a 4-2 run in region play.  

Chilton County, who closed out 2021 at 3-7, join Benjamin Russell, Briarwood Christian, Calera, Helena, Homewood and Pelham in a redrawn Class 6A, Region 3 in 2022.
