Arab Claims fourth Straight Victory over Rival Albertville

Arab, AL – The Arab Knights kicked off their season in style with a commanding 34-6 victory over Marshall county rival Albertville Thursday night at the Arab SportsPlex. The game marked a significant moment as Bert Browne made his debut as the head football coach for the Aggies. The Arab Knights’ performance, particularly in the first half, paved the way for a strong start to their 2023 campaign.

In a game that highlighted their strength on offense, the Arabian Knights wasted no time in asserting their dominance. Lee Ozmint’s squad put up an impressive 20 points in the first half, setting the tone for the cross-county matchup. The Knights ability to capitalize on opportunities allowed them to maintain their lead and secure the win.

The victory marked a notable milestone for Arab, as they extended their winning streak to four consecutive games against the Class 7A Aggies.

Logan Alldredge emerged as a key player for the Knights, showcasing his agility and strength. Alldredge’s 24 carries translated to an impressive 112 yards, and he found the end zone twice. Meanwhile, senior Drew Puccio displayed his versatility by adding 32 rushing yards and a touchdown. Puccio’s role extended beyond the ground game, as he orchestrated Arab’s passing game with finesse. He completed 12-of-19 passes, racking up 107 yards and adding two more scores through the air. A single interception served as a minor blemish on an otherwise standout performance.

Landon Strickland’s sure-handedness added to the Knights’ offensive arsenal, with four receptions for 46 yards.

The Knights’ victory was a testament to their meticulous offseason preparation and coordinated effort on both ends of the ball. Their dominance over the 7A Aggies, particularly in light of their four-game winning streak, positions them as a formidable force in North Alabama and a threat to repeat as Marshall County champions in 2023.

The win also marked the reigning Class 5A, Region 7 champion Knights’ fifth straight season opening victory.
