Tuscaloosa Christian Snaps Six Year Skid to Rival Tabernacle

Cottondale, AL – The Tuscaloosa Christian Warriors broke a six-game losing streak to rival Tabernacle Christian Friday night, coming out on top 56-28.

The win improves the Warriors to 6-3 overall with a 3-2 mark in conference play.  The rebuilding Torches slip to 2-5 on the season, 2-4 in CFA play.

The Torches struggled to contain the potent Tuscaloosa rushing attack yielding 380 yards on the ground to the Warriors lead by standout senior quarterback Luke Jones.

Jones finished the night with five total touchdowns, scoring three with his legs and two through the air.  He passed for 67 yards, completing four passes and connecting on a pair of touchdown throws. What really set him apart was his performance on the ground, where he ran for 172 yards and three touchdowns, leaving the Torches’ defense struggling to stop him.

Senior Seth Foster was Jones’ favorite target pulling down two crucial catches for 20 yards and a score. Junior Michael Carter snagged a 39-yard touchdown grab, while Jackson Harris added an 8-yard reception.
