Orange Beach Unveils $46 Million Athletic Facility Project

Orange Beach, AL – Orange Beach City Schools (OBCS) is poised to make a significant leap in its commitment to athletics with the upcoming construction of a state-of-the-art sports facility. Set to begin next month, this impressive project, with an estimated cost exceeding $46 million, promises to be a game-changer for the Orange Beach community. OBCS Superintendent Randy Wilkes emphasized that this facility is not only for Mako athletics but also utilized by the entire Orange Beach community. A Comprehensive Athletic Complex

  • Competition Gymnasium: A highlight of the project is the construction of a competition gymnasium capable of seating 1,200 spectators. This gymnasium will provide an exceptional environment for athletic events, from basketball to volleyball, and other activities that require spacious indoor facilities.
  • Track and Turfed Field: The athletic complex will feature an eight-lane track that surrounds a turfed soccer and football field. This state-of-the-art facility will provide a versatile and safe space for both students and the local community to engage in sports and physical activities.
